The Delhi Police have busted a gang of six people active in the Connaught Place area who kept sending people abroad on fake travel documents.

The police claimed to have seized around 200 fake passports, stamps, bank statements and visas from their possession.

Initial investigation suggested that their network has reached beyond Delhi-NCR and covered Haryana and Punjab with active support supported by a section of employees working at the Embassies of different countries at the airport check posts.

A team of the crime branch raided the office of the accused in the Connaught place area on Friday morning where the fake documents were seized.

Police further conducted another raid in the Shakarpur area and seized 30 fake passports.
During the interrogation, the accused confessed to have made the fake travel documents for Rs 50,000, to send people abroad.
